Carrier oils are used in aromatherapy, a complementary therapy where various essential oils are applied to the body to aid both physical and emotional health and well-being. Carrier oils dilute the concentrated essential oils so they can be applied to the skin freely.
Coconut: Derived from coconut oil with eliminating long-chain fatty acids, this oil will remain in liquid form which makes it the perfect candidate to carry essential oils.
Grapeseed: Derived from grape seeds, this oil is rich in vitamin E which aids in hydrating and nourishing the skin. Its neutral scent also makes it a great vehicle to use with essential oils.
Jojoba: Derived from the seed of a Jojoba plant, this oil closely mimics sebum, the skin's natural oil. It's powerful moisturizing properties may help to reduce oil production in blemish-prone skin.
Olive: Derive from pressed olives, this oil is loaded with fatty acids and plant sterols, making it excellent for cleansing and moisturizing the skin.
Sweet Almond: Derived from the kernels of sweet almond, this light weight oil absorbs easily and is perfect for dry skin types.
